“everybody’s in their uniforms, honey, you’re the odd one out,” reflects zina on her debut album opera house

born in portugal and raised in france, with a dutch diplomat and a burmese human rights activist as parents, zina has always felt a bit out of place.

especially, as a law student jajaja :’)

from writing books in her mum’s office, or songs in the kitchen, to writing a full-length musical at 15, zina has always had stories to tell.

a theatre kid, zina trained with West-End Musical Theatre and directors from the National Theatre of Strasbourg and the Toneelacademie. opera house, while addressing the parallelisms between art and life, performance and politics, marks zina being herself on stage for the first time.

a production assistant for netflix, bbc, paramount, and apple tv, zina has also produced multiple award-winning short films bringing women’s and lgbtq+ stories to the forefront.

building to the release of her debut album opera house, zina has performed a series of concept shows from the bedford (balham) to times square (nyc).

inspired by taylor swift, maisie peters, gracie abrams, alec benjamin, jp saxe, billie, finneas, sasha sloan, ashe, olivia rodrigo (the list goes on :), you’ll find in zina’s songs a blend of social commentaries, fictional, and personal storytelling.

opera house by zina win-lemmers, out january 10th.
